Jessica's "Daily Affirmation"
How great would very morning be if it started out like this? I have been IN LOVE with this little girl's video of daily affirmations since it became a hit on YouTube! What a great perspective on life!
My sophomore year of college, I went through a time when I felt like I wasn't good enough. I was struggling in school, in my faith, in loving myself and in my confidence. I took a marker and colored on probably 100 pieces of construction paper affirmations. My little dorm room was SO small, I completely covered my walls. I wrote things like "I am pretty," "I am smart," "I can do math," "I can pass calculus," "God loves me," "My thighs aren't huge," "I am worthy," "I am loved" etc. While I still cannot do math and have learned to except that as part of my genetic makeup, I started to believe the things I read over and over. Eventually, the constant repetitiveness, tricks you into believing it. If you're struggling with something like this, I encourage you to try affirmation notes. They looked really lame ALL over my walls but I'm sure a post it or 3 would be more inconspicuous.
The month of November always makes me think of what I'm thankful for and how truly blessed I am. I need to be better about making this more of an everyday affair instead of "when I think about it in November" affair.
So today:
I love my...
life
Savior
husband
son
daughter-to-be
house
family
friends
Clemson girlfriends
car
dogs (most of the time)
(the list really tanks from here on out in regards to seriousness)
BOB stroller (seriously.. love it)
Chili's chips and salsa
streaming Netflix
my hair
my height
my neighborhood
Starbucks
my camera
AND sooo much more but this is a start!

I love my bubble.
This morning started great.
Parker slept until 6:15 which was a huge improvement from 4:30, I got a shower (which doesn't always happen in the mornings). I got to curl my hair. We were early to My Gym. Parker was wonderful at My Gym.... he even let the male instructor hold him which is unheard of with P-man. We stopped by the bank and cashed a check the bank shouldn't have let me cash (it was in my husband's name and he wasn't with me and didn't sign it). I ordered a grande Starbucks, paid for it with a gift card and the barista made a mistake and gave me a venti... love it! Seriously... awesome morning.
Then we went to Independence Blvd (since Parker was in such a chipper mood). MISTAKE. Independence Blvd is outside of my Ballantyne and Lake Norman bubble but it's the closest Hancock Fabric. SOOO we went. Let me just say. I love my Ballantyne Bubble. The people are friendly and thoughtful. Not so much the case with Independence Blvd people (I realize I'm wildy stereotyping here). I'm in line at Hancock fabric with 1 item (that I need 1 yard of) and the lady in front of me has 2 carts... seriously 2 carts... that she needs ALL different sizes cut. It took almost 20 minutes. Even though I was behind her. I can't imagine not letting a person who has 1 item (and a kid) in front of you. Maybe I'm over reacting but it seemed thoughtless. Then even though my item was priced at $12.99 a yard they charged me $16.99 and the lady wouldn't change it even though I showed her the sale sign. FRUSTRATING!
We had another incident in Ross (I should expect instances like that in Ross though). I'll spare you those details. WHEW. Some people seriously shouldn't procreate. Thankfully, we got our items, drove back to our Ballantyne Bubble and are continuing our lovely fall day at home! I think normally my patience for above frustrations would have been a bit higher if I had not just spent an entire day yesterday in prompt hell with Dish Network and Paypal. There is only so many customer service frustrations one can gracefully handle in a week and mine are tapped out for the month.
We did find 1 worthwhile treasure other than our overpriced minky dot material. A pink and brown Nike tennis dress for Miss. Avery. I supposed Independence Blvd wasn't a total bust after all.
Once Parker wakes up, we're heading to the park! What a beautiful, fall day! PS- I love where I live!

Fall Photoshoot
Today I attempted a fall photoshoot with Parker. It was not quite as successful as I was hoping. First, it's winter... not fall. It looks like fall... but don't be fooled... it was probably child abuse that I didn't have Parker in a hat and parka. (sorry buddy!) Second, he was WAY more interested in playing on the swing set but that was just not the look I was going for. Third, I stepped in dog poop in my nice black flats. Bummer. I guess that's what I get for just doing the pics in the backyard instead of some nice photo-worthy site.
That was all kinda negative... hold tight for the exciting part of my day.
Here are the best of the shots I got. Regardless... he's so stinkin' cute they could be blurry and dark and they'd still be adorable!
Parker and I had the pleasure of playing with Miss Lily today so she got in on the photoshoot too. Unlike Parker, she was well behaved and I got lots of good ones of her! Here's my favorite of her.
How cute is she? OMG I want one. WAIT... I'm getting one! AHHH..... are you catching on?
We're having a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!! We found out this week and I'm seriously through the moon! My mind is racing with all things pink that it literally hurts. Today I made a trip (alone!) to Hobby Lobby and managed to only spend $30 which I believe is a record. I purchased material to cover her car seat. No, she cannot have a normal Chicco. It must be boutique looking and lovely. Just because I can. It's going to be A-DOR-ABLE! I also got infant headbands and a bow making instructional manual. If you know me well enough, you know my little girl WILL wear a bow EVERYDAY. Maybe even to bed.... and if she refuses to.... I will hot glue it to her head. Well not really but this is a battle I WILL choose and I WILL win. Period.
Lastly, I jammed out to some Christmas music today in the car. LOVED it! I'm ready. Bring on the holidays... the weather sure has caught the hint! BRR!

Trick or Treat!
Guess who put surprised his mom and wore his costume without a single shed tear? That's right! PARKER! I'm so glad we did that trial run a few weeks back! We gave him two suckers (one for each hand) and slid the costume right on! SUCCESS!!!!
We trick or treated a few houses on the street in his happy monster costume and did an outfit change at about 6:30 into his glow in the dark skeleton jammies to wear around the house. He was SOOO cute even if I am a little biased. Nana, Poppi and grandma came to celebrate with us and we had a wonderful time!
Surprise fog machine!
Parker and his friend, Brooklyn
Nana, Poppi and Parker!
And he's done with staged pictures.
Every fairy should ride in a pink car!
No drinking and driving, Brooklyn!
YAY! He's a happy monster.... even if he is only happy because he was bribed with 2 suckers!
Brooklyn giving Parker some treats!
Probably the best shot of the 2 of them we got.
I can't believe next Halloween we'll have a 2 1/2 year old and a 6 month old!
