Yesterday, we packed up the swagger wagon and headed to my parents for a fun day on the lake! This was Liam's first time at the lake and while he didn't love swimming in the lake, he enjoyed the boat.... and salty lake food! Today I think we're going to have to detox him from pretzels and cookies! I'm not kidding when I say over the course of the day, he came close to devouring an entire bag of Rold Gold's. Parker and Avery spent the day jumping off the dock, swimming in the lake and tubing!
The first of many snack breaks!
The king and queen of pretzel eating.
Parker enjoyed a spin on the jet ski with nana...
...and a ride on the paddle board! Parker worked VERY hard as you can see ;)
The kids jumped off the floats and poor daddy got to go swim after them when the floats started to drift down the cove.
Parker LOVES tubing! The water was ROUGH and he thought it was awesome! Nana and I thought it was less than awesome but watching him have a great time made all those jarring waves worth it!
We ended the day with a boat ride to search for ducks. All 3 kids loved "duck hunting" and the breeze! Even this little mister!
After a fun day, we ended the night with hamburgers and chicken on the grill. It was the perfect dinner to cap off a great family day on the lake!
By dinner time, little man was over tired. He has not yet learned the fine art of boat naps.... a personal favorite of Avery and Parker. He slept the whole ride home, 12 hours last night and was ready for a nap again by 10:30 today. I think we wore him out!
Today is "catch up day!" We took yesterday off from all household responsibilities and are spending today mowing the grass, cleaning the seahorse tank and other less than glamorous homeowner type chores. It's the kind of day that makes you want to buy a condo... except then you think of 3 kids, 3 dogs and an indoor trampoline in a tiny condo and reconsider really quickly! ;)
Looks like fun! What boat do your parents have if you don't mind me asking? We are going to be looking for a boat sometime soon that is good for water sports (tubing, skiiing, etc.) and one of my must-haves is good shade on the boat for when we have kids and many of your boating posts seem to show decent shade on the boat.
ReplyDeleteThey have a tri toon. It's like a pontoon but faster because it has a bigger engine and a 3rd toon down the middle of the boat. I have NO idea what kind it is but I LOVE it! We wake board and tube behind it all the time and it provides perfect shade for babies! I bought a battery powered fan that I keep on board for any sleeping babies. I can ask the brand but check out tri toons. My dad seems to be a fan! (CLEARLY I don't know how to respond to my blog comments because I almost never get any! hahaha!)

ReplyDeleteThanks Taylor! We'll definitely look into tri toons!
